Ashley Hanson is from Tucson, AZ. and attended the University of Arizona’s School of Dance where she studied under the direction of Jory Hancock, Melissa Lowe and Susan Quinn. While in Tucson, Ashley taught ballet, jazz, lyrical and tap to dancers of all ages and abilities throughout the Tucson region.
In 2006, Ashley moved to Jackson, MS. to begin her professional training with Ballet Magnificat under the direction of Jiri Voborsky and Kathy Thibodeaux. In 2008 she was appointed to Company Apprentice and in 2009 to Company Artist. During her time at Ballet Magnificat, she taught and performed across the U.S. and Canada as well as 12 countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. In 2015, Ashley retired from Ballet Magnificat and moved to Jonesboro, AR. with her husband Kason. There she began teaching ballet, jazz, contemporary and floor/barre classes at studios and schools throughout the area.
In 2016, Ashley and her husband moved to Colorado Springs, CO. where she taught ballet, jazz, and contemporary in both studio and college settings. Ashley has also served as a dance adjudicator at competitions in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Colorado.
In 2019, Ashley and Kason formed META Performance to provide movement and performance coaching for dancers as well as training for athletes of other backgrounds. In 2020 they moved to Houston, TX. to spend time with family and continue developing the vision of META Performance. Since that time they have been providing movement and performance coaching and consulting to studios in Texas, Arizona and Colorado and are excited to be launching their first teacher training course in the summer of 2023. Ashley and Kason look forward to expanding their business to support as many dancers, dance instructors, and health and wellness practitioners as possible.
